Have you ever been to paris during late spring and wondered what to pack for your skin? The city feels like a dream.... mild sunshine, gentle brezes, and the kind of light that makes everything glow. The weather is perfectly in between not too cold, not too cold hot, but it can quickly shift from sunny afternoons to breezy evenings, which means your skincare routine needs to be perfect balanced to keep that Parisian glow intact! How I survived the weather, the long walks in europe and my hot flashes with a little help from Dermalogica!

Spring was the perfect time to visit Paris...... Last april my daughter and I took a dream trip to Paris, Poland and Vienna. In Paris we stayed in a lovely hotel in Issy-les-Molineaux, a quiet and safe town just outside paris, near the Seine River and close to her friend that is studing fashion bussines there. We felt very comfortable walking around even at night. It was the perfect place to experience paris like locals; peaceful, charming and just a short train ride from the city.

From there, we spend days wandering through The Gardens of Versailles, strolling along the Champ Elysees, taking countless photos at the Eiffel Tower, admiring the beauty of the Louvre, visiting the Notre Dame Cathedral, walking by the romantic Seine River and discovering the Arc de Triomphe, where you can enjoy one of the most breathtaking 360 views of paris.

We also made our way up to Montmartre and the Basilique du Sacre coeur, where you can see the entire city and witness one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen and where I was having my own Emely in Paris moment without even knowing :).

Montmartre is gorgeous, but wow those stairs up to the Sacré-Cœur are no joke (trust me, your legs will feel them) there are almost 200 hundread steps so instead of huffing and puffing our way down, we used our Navigo card to hop on the funicular. It’s included in your pass, so you can glide right up and save your energy for exploring those charming little streets instead.

Visiting Paris in late spring can be tricky for your skin . The weather sits perfectly between warm and cool, but it changes quickly, sunny one moment, breezy the next. While taking in the breathtaking views from the Eiffel Towe, the cool breeze started to chap my lips, but my Dermalogica Renewal Lip Complex came to the rescue. A quick swipe, and they instantly felt soft, smooth and hydrated again. It's my little secret to keeping a perfect smile, no matter how high the winds blow.

Essential items to bring for spring time in Paris

Layers are crucial for springtime packing. I suggest including both a trench coat and eather jacket mong your outerwear options. When the temperatures drop, layering becomes your best friend, and there’s nothing quite like throwing on a stylish leather jacket beneath a chic trench coat. Trust me, I've done it more times than I can count, and it works every time! Not only does it keep you warm, but it also adds that effortless, cool vibe to your look. I will also recomend to pack one or two of your favorite scarves, they will come very handy for those chilly days. Scarves are often seen as mere accessories, but during our recent trip, they became essential companions that added flair to our outfits while also providing warmth against unexpected chills. We both had packed two distinct scarves each, and oh, how we made the most of this simple yet significant choice! Now, if you’re anything like me, comfort is key when strolling through the enchanting streets of Paris. That’s why comfortable walking shoes are a must. I can't emphasize this enough! And for those chillier spring days, we both packed our favorite boots, and honestly, no regrets there.

Now, getting around Paris? You’ve got options, but walking? That’s an experience all on its own! There’s something magical about getting lost in the enchanting side streets and stumbling upon charming cafés or hidden boutiques. If you’re worried about looking out of place, don’t be! Sneakers and flats are always trending, and you can rock them while radiating that effortless Parisian flair. For my almost everyday look I packed three pair of jeans (one black, one white and the classic blue ) two suits to combine for a dressy casual look, a white shirt , some shirts and a long dress and short dress. Oh, and don’t forget your umbrella, springtime in Paris can be as unpredictable as it is beautiful. And if you find yourself forgetting anything (we’ve all been there!), French pharmacies and some supermarkets are abundantly stocked with a variety of necessities, including toiletries, skincare products, and travel essentials. Galleries Lafayette or Publicis drugstores are your go-to spots. These stores have everything you could possibly need, from fashionable wardrobe staples to cute little trinkets. You’ll leave loving your finds and, of course, the fabulous experience of shopping in Paris! So, pack well, embrace the layers, and get ready for an unforgettable adventure!

Here are extra handy travel tips to Paris

  • At the Louvre: Skip the long line at the main entrance! Head to the carrousel du Louvre (99 Rue de Rivoli) for a faster entry, less sun, and convenient lockers to store your bags while exploring.

  • While visiting the Chateau de Versailles you can either walk for miles, hop on a little train $ or rent a golf cart, we didnt know so we ended up walking for hours :(

  • Almost anywhere in paris they sell the burets so dont complicate your life trying to bring one, they are 3 x $10 euros. We bought some as souvenirs for friends and family back in the US.

  • At Montmartre: There is a little train that takes you on a scenic ride around the area. It's charming and relaxing way to see the city, passing by the famous Mouling Rouge, small vineyards, cozy cafes, and a variety of thrift shops that attract fashion lovers from all over the world. The ride costs around $9 to 10 euros (about $10 USD) and its definitely worth the experience and the views.

  • Arc de Triomphe: Go up to the roof, the 360 view is breathtaking, and if the stairs are f the stairs are too much, they also have an elevator that you can ask to use

    • Take the underground passage, not the roundabout itself!
